I have been heavily recruiting for my Class of 2018 game and I am extremely pleased with the roster that has presented itself for our first ever Scout Trout All-American Bowl weekend. Because it has gone so well and we had many stand-out Class of 2019 players at our regional showcases, we decided it was in our best nature to provide a platform for our Class of 2019 players to showcase their amazing abilities, as Student-Athlete's on the football field to help create massive exposure for next years recruiting class. The talent that is coming forth is not only magnificent, but most of the players when they call are on D1 power 5 visits! That being said, Class of 2018 has a lot of work to still accomplish in order for all of them to succeed in the world of college football, so we are working hard on this years class and combining next years Class with some 2020 standout's. I am blessed with a great ability to improvise and make this the best event for college coaches to scout our Scout Trout student-athlete's. Let's talk about how we are doing this and what to expect all weekend.
I have started my Scout Trout College/bowl training system with local athletes in the Louisiana and Mississippi to prepare them for our event and there up and coming seasons, whether it be High School or College. I work on individual technique at each position and then we start our college/pro style concepts, that only the GOATS of this game are using, to employ mass destruction on their opponents. I have watched the players who have worked with me individually blossom into extremely good ball players and be able to achieve incredible combine numbers and also obtain great film for College coaches to truly evaluate all of their individual athletic talents. Football is a team sport and you may be a QB, whose team does not throw the football. So they decide to go with a running QB and you are bewildered because you have a sling-shot cannon attached to your body. I deal with these situations everyday and I will bet that if you come and work with us, while being able to prove you have what it takes to play at the College level, we will find you a home.
I am starting to look at the offense/defense for my class of 2018 game, I am developing the plays based off of what kind of college offense I believe you will fit in precisely. I am also devising the defensive scheme catered to our personnel, so we can maximize your output as well, as far as scouting is concerned. I put up a form on the front page of the web site today for when you will be arriving in Mobile, Alabama. I will be shuttling players with some staff members from New Orleans and working with everyone to make sure it is a good transition into our event. The Priceline App or Booking App has saved me boatloads of money for our team and we recommend using "express deals" in Tillman's corner, as all of the hotel's are equal. I will be in Mobile the two weeks leading up to the event for anyone who would like to come in and get work in early. We will be hosting a showcase in Alabama for all ages the week before our main event and holding personal training sessions with players from all over the South East. My pro/free agent event will be one of the days of the Senior Bowl practices (afternoon after the NFL's SR Bowl practice) and we will use this time to work on the details that can propel you to where you need to be for a Pro coach to sign you.
In my first year running a bowl game event, I have found it is a 24/7 job, when you add that I am communicating with over 250 people a day, things have become a true war room here at Tulane. When I set out to open doors for others and give them a vast knowledge of the game of football, along with vital tools for life, I expected everything that has come out of the pipeline program, which was built off of my fathers pro career and my 24 years of playing football at a high level. The ups and downs in football will leave you guessing sometimes why your still chasing this dream, but in the end, those who are mentally the toughest will always prevail. This is a stressful time of year for all of us at the Scout Trout Militia, let's try and remember it's just a game, but a game that can mold you, shape you and transform you into the man you were suppose to be from the very start.
