Player notes - 2023 All-American Athlete Wauntavious Conley could be the best multi-dimensional offensive weapon nationally with his uncanny play-making capabilities offensively and in the return game, as he was virtually unstoppable for the Abbeville HS offense during his senior season campaign. Conley possesses the ability to take the ball the distance anytime he gets the ball is his grasps, as he proved to be a tenacious downhill runner who utilizes his God given brute strength to plow through would-be tacklers to pick up massive chunks of yards after contact. When aligned in the slot, Conley proves to be an excellent route runner who has impeccable concentration when making receptions in heavy traffic and can be used on jet sweeps and other quick hitting screen game packages with his ability to bob & weave through the defense at full tilt to pick up yards after the catch. Player notes - Top 2023 ATH recruit is magnificent as a slot wide receiver and reminds me of a young Antwan Randle El, as he has outstanding overall acceleration and is able to get of of his breaks very quickly. Mitchell is able to locate the football on deep routes, after torching his opponent in one on one match-ups, as seen at the Baylor football camp. His movements at the defensive back position are very sound, as he is able to sink his hips and break on the football with cheetah like closing speed. As a return man, Naeten-Jeremy is a ball of electricity that can take the football the distance with his overall athletic capabilities. He can be seen at 1:16 into his 2019 highlight's, setting the DB up with a quick stop and go route, while being able to lay out and haul in the touchdown pass. Winzer is a very fluent athlete at the defensive back position and is a dynamic play-maker as both a receiving target and Dual-Threat QB recruit. His freshmen season was spent playing JV & Varsity, as his overall athletic attributes and football intellect are off the charts for such a young age. Caden also excels in the kick return game and can make defenders miss, while also being a very keen ball carrier and setting up his blocks downfield. Player notes - Top 2023 RB recruit Tyler Dodd had another phenomenal season at Napierville Central HS in Illinois and exhibited the capabilities of a top flight running back recruit, who is capable of moving the chains consistently with his gritty style of downhill running. Dodd has extremely quick reflexes and is able to instinctevely hit the cut-back lanes after receiving the handoff, while possessing outstanding overall burst when motoring his way through traffic. He is able to utilize a plethora of finesse moves like the quick spin & jump cut, while also demonstrating the power needed to plow through would-be tacklers for extra yardage after contact. Tyler also happens to be a very gifted receiver coming out of the backfield and is able to locate the soft spots in the defense for his quarterback to deliver the football to him up the field, while being able to instantaneously propel his body into position to accelerate for yards after the catch. He has very soft hands when making tough catches with his arms extended and has the wiggle needed to shake defenders, which will bode extremely well at the collegiate level. When Tyler is not dancing his way through the opposing defense, he is an excellent blocker and is able to demolish his opponents to open up running lanes for the Napierville Central play-makers. Dodd is used heavily in the screen game and does a great job at getting lost behind his blockers, while using his diverse athletic skill-set to move the football down the field through the opposing defense and skedaddle away from defenders. His determination in short yardage situations and powerful frame sets himself, as well as team up for instant success and he is able to blast through a wall of defenders to pick up the yardage needed to find pay-dirt. Top 2023 ATH Connor Theriault update - 2023 All-American FB recruit Connor Theriault is the definition of a total package football recruit and after re-evaluating Theriault's Sophomore campaign, I have named him to my 2023 All-American team as a defensive back. The brilliant 5'10", 180 pound Wando defensive Warrior is arguably one of the most intriguing prospects I have had the honor to scout, as his relentless pursuit of perfection has been visibly noticed through his growth on & off the field of play. Conner's academic excellence off the field landed him in the prestigious Duke talent identification program (DUKE TIP), as he boasts a 4.130 GPA and is a member of the National Society of HS Scholars. After re-evaluating Connor's 2020 season highlight's and his stellar tackling abilities, as well as his innate ability to weave through traffic on kickoff team, he also could transition into an OLB role in the near future. Trey can be witnessed driving the into very tightly knit windows of the defensive zone coverage in his new Spring highlight's, while proving to also be highly adept at distributing the football with very well timed touch passes when going over the top of the defense. He does a wonderful job at shifting the defense while coming out of play-action and is able to very accurately lead his receiving targets to the open part of the football field.
