Jay Stanton is Scout Trout's number two overall rated All-Purpose Back, as he defines what a stand-out "ALL-PURPOSE" player should yield to the eye. This Every Down Back is very explosive and waste no time driving the football directly into the heart of a defensive unit. Jay Stanton can line up all over the football field and was able to rush for 1100 yards and 13 touchdowns, while hauling in 6 receptions for a whopping 200 yards (33.3 avg) and 2 receiving touchdowns. This exhilarating style of play was able to garner Stanton 1st Team All-Area for large schools and Honorable Mention All-State in the talent rich State of Florida. Jay's shiftiness and agility can be partially attributed to his outstanding point guard play on the hardwood, which was also Scout Trout's favorite sport to play at his age. With 4.5 speed and a 34-inch vertical, Stanton could easily line up in the slot at the next level and/or be a dynamic target for his QB out of the backfield. Stanton demonstrate a tenacious downhill running style that is conducive to moving the chains consistently at the next level and showing superior vision to utilize the cut-back lane. Stanton can be seen lining up in the slot and run a great "wheel" route, while being able to adjust to the football to make a tremendous catch. Stanton is then able to carry not one, but two defenders all the way to the end-zone for another big time play, as an All-Purpose Back. Knowing how my new algorithm is calculated, I have ranked Jay Stanton our #2 All-Purpose Back, as he also is an exceptional young man and STUDENT-Athlete. Now, after watching hundreds of top flight running backs around the nation, I have decided Jay Stanton is the most well-rounded when it comes to being a powerful back, who can also beat you badly in the passing game. As I dig further into this young man's career and life, I am reminded of the Hall of Fame Running Back Ladainian Tomlinson and his historic play as both an "All-Purpose Back" and a featured Tailback, who had the capability to carry his team to victory. This type of All-American play not only warrants a high ranking on my All-Purpose Backs list, but would also land him high on my top Overall Athletes. The swing pass out of the backfield at 1:43 shows Stanton's ability to react with outstanding instincts, as he is able to notice the defender to the outside before he even catches the football. Then he rapidly breaks back to the inside and is once again darting down field after a fabulous stiff arm to create another optimal gain for his team. Stanton illustrates his fabulous play at the bottom of his highlights and he uses the word "quick" quite often. When I watch his Basketball tape, I can see why Stanton has the acceleration and the coordination he possesses on the football field. With Stanton's keen sense of play and outstanding academics for a Student-Athlete, his upside as a collegiate running back is out of this world, and I have seen a massive progression in mostly ALL he sets his mind to. Stanton was used extremely well in a diverse high school system that also translates to him being able to pick up schematics quickly and be an instant contributor at ANY level of college football. I want to thank Jay for accepting his nomination for our Scout Trout All-American Bowl and, as always, KEEP GRINDING! The road less traveled will not lead you astray, as you travel down your path to greatness in whatever life decides to throw your way.
Tyler Dobbs is one of the most well rounded Linebacker/Fullback prospects I have seen on tape and his academics are IVY league material, as he boasts a 3.88 GPA. With 4.6 speed and a powerfully built frame, I initially graded Dobbs, as an MLB when I watched his tape, but I am also going to be adding him to the FB category in our Class of 2019 rankings today. You will watch Dobbs savagely play the role of the "clean up man" on the first play of his Class of 2019 highlights and completely unearth the defender and he hits the ball carrier so hard that his helmet is removed rapidly. The second play with Dobbs at fullback, you will witness his game changing speed for his size at that position, as he bursts through the hole and is able to break two tackles, while utilizing a beautiful stiff on his way to pay-dirt. Dobbs is able to instinctively read the next play and reacts spontaneously to devour the running back for a loss on the swing pass. Dobbs shows outstanding tackling abilities and is able to kill the ball carriers "levers" and stop them dead in their tracks. His quickness and speed off the snap is very impressive and he has a very keen sense on his pursuit angles. Dobbs is seen wonderfully "scraping" down the line of scrimmage at :50 seconds into his highlights and once again is able to up end the ball carrier with his stellar tackling skills. He takes on blockers very well using his hands to get separation or gain leverage to keep contain, and reads plays instantaneously, like the QB draw at 1:10, to inflict damage on his opponents. At around 1:46, Dobbs is seen once again completely obliterating another back on a swing pass, and his speed to the football is very visible. One of the best overall "form tackles" you will witness on the next play, as Dobbs keeps his head up and drives himself through the hip of the ball carrier to lay him flat on his back. Dobbs shows a great "power" style of running and epitomizes a college fullback. With his 4.6 speed, he could also be a very good to elite running back at the college level, as well. With his academics and amazing athletics demonstrated on the football field, Tyler Dobbs came in as my 11th ranked overall MLB upon initial evaluation. The fact that he makes me struggle on whether or not to move him to my #1 or #2 ranked Fullback overall, should attest to his capabilities as a ball carrier. Tyler has accepted his Scout Trout Class of 2019 All-American nomination, and we are extremely excited to see this young man progress into a big time NCAA Collegiate Football player!

Silva comes to us from William Floyd HS in New York and will be a extremely valuable addition to any collegiate offense and/or defense. Nick Silva is the epitome of a complete running back and is capable of controlling a football game on the ground from start to finish. Nick could very well be used as a Fullback at the next level, as he would fit perfect as a Georgia Tech style triple-option super back. Silva Bench pressed 225LBS 15 times and keeps his powerful legs churning to break through tackles, as a knife slides through butter. On the very first play of his highlights above, Silva is seen hitting the hole with great acceleration, while using great agility and strength to break free of defenders. He then lowers his shoulder and shows outstanding lower body power to run right over the defender, to make his way all the way to the end zone for the score. Silva shows his short yardage ability on the goal line the very next play and is able to bull-doze through THREE defenders, on his way for one of his 40 Touchdowns for his historic career to this point. Nick is also a very keen linebacker, who has a great football IQ that is shown on the next play of his highlight's. You can see Nick's head keying on the motion man and he is able to make a great break on the football, after very quickly identifying the play. After, Nick makes a beautiful interception and is able to take the ball back for a touchdown. Silva is seen firing through the "A" gap on the very next play and is in the backfield so quickly, the ball carrier never has a chance to secure the ball, as Nick pummels his opponent into fumbling the football. I love Nick's "in and out" style of running, while maneuvering through traffic, as he is extremely tough to bring down once he gets into the open field. Silva shows his ability in the screen game, after another exhilarating touchdown run and great awareness in moving the ball to the proper arm, while welcoming the on-coming safety with a BRUTAL stiff arm! Silva is able to identify the cut-back lane and also can change directions in a flash, while still being able to accelerate to escape the inferior defenders. Silva is one of those powerful backs, who possesses the rare ability to completely wear out a defense at the next level. He is not your typical ground and pound back thou, as at any given moment he will take advantage of a defenders over-pursuit and break into daylight for a long gain. At 1:49 into his film, Nick once again hits the designed running lane very quickly only to find nowhere to run. He is able to then make one of the best spin moves I have seen in the box out of a Class of 2019 running back and uses his stiff arm, while running through three defenders who appear to fear this authoritative back from Mastic Beach, NY. Silva makes another thrilling play on defense the very next play and once again, makes a decisive read on the ball and shows great concentration making the interception on the deflected pass. The beauty about Nick's play on the gridiron is a very compelling mix of old school football, that combines some of the best athletics and football IQ I have witnessed on tape out of the Northeast region of America. With the ability to do so many things on a football field it is going to be a honor to work with this young man, as I have now officially nominated him, as a Scout Trout Early Selection All-American! Since 8th grade Nick has dominated with the football in his hands and knows the game of football so well, that he is able to switch sides of the ball and DOMINATE on the other side of the football, as a Linebacker. This fabulous prospect is destined for great things on either side of the football and with a 3.62 GPA, is another "Total Package" prospect that we have identified, as a ELITE COLLEGE Football prospect for the Class of 2019. The tackling technique alone that Sliva uses, after expeditiously identifying plays at linebacker, reminds me of Brain Urlacher, who was a safety at U of New Mexico and and also a Hall of Fame linebacker for the Chicago Bears. Congrats on being selected as a Class of 2019 Scout Trout Early All-American nomination and keep progressing quicker then your competitors, on and off the field to create your path to greatness in the world of collegiate football.
Jalen Barton comes to the Scout Trout All-American Bowl roster from Enterprise High School in the great football state of Alabama! Barton is an extremely fluent and gifted runner when working out of the Gun-Spread formation and is able to hit the designed running lane with great acceleration, which is combine with a very powerful style of running. The read/option attack, which is used heavily in today's world of college football, is displayed heavily above in his exhilarating footage from his junior season. Once Barton squares his shoulders and gets moving downfield, he is seen very keenly using the cut-back to gain extra chunks of yards moving the chains for the Enterprise HS Wildcats! When used in short yardage or down by the goal line, Barton will slice through your defense, as he often gets through the hole so quickly, the defensive linemen are not even out of their stance yet! Once he arrives at the "second level", the linebackers are in for a tenacious battle, as Jalen Barton will not be deterred from his final destination. Jalen can be seen executing another read/option play at around :56 seconds and proves to also be a battering ram of a blocker! He uses excellent technique and engages with perfect leverage, while using great hand placement, ensuring the defender cannot come from the backside to make a play on his QB. After a great cut-block, Barton can bee seen getting to the outside and lowering his shoulder, showing that he does not shy away from contact and loves to gain those tough extra yards. Barton is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and you can witness him run a beautiful "out and up" out of the backfield at Troy Universities OTA's. Barton is able to sell the out extremely well on the first part of route and then with the defender still in perfect positioning, make a remarkable over-the-shoulder snag for a TOUCHDOWN! Jalen Barton also shows a great ability to pick up on-coming pass rushers and is able to stop them right in their tracks with his superior blocking technique. Barton is a every down back, that can be used in all three facets that play a critical role in a college style offense, as far a running back is concerned. He is a tremendous runner and can move the chains regularly for your offense, while also being a dynamic receiver, whom I could also see lining up in the slot. When you combine this with his blocking abilities and 3.62 GPA, you have a COMPLETE TOTAL PACKAGE Running Back for the Class of 2019! Congrats Jalen Barton on being selected, as a 2019 Scout Trout Early All-American Selection, and I am excited to work with him going forward into what is going to be a glorious senior campaign on the gridiron!
