Jared Pickens is a complete total package football prospect and is a brilliant up and coming Class of 2020 prospect at the Center and Long Snapper positions. Coming out of Lebanon Trail High School in Texas, Jared is seen using great technique in both the run and passing game, as he is one of the best interior linemen I have seen at finishing his blocks. Pickens shows great footwork in staying in front of his opponent when pass blocking and forming the pocket for his QB. Jared is one of the best snappers, as far as speed and accuracy are concerned in the nation, and has been ranked as the #1 Long snapper after watching how perfect he is able to deliver the ball to his QB and/or place holder. Jared is also an outstanding run blocker and after he completes his flawless shot-gun snaps, he is seen engaging and keeping his strong legs churning to completely control his defender, while finishing his blocks. Pickens is excellent at turning his defender the proper direction per play design and uses great technique that even Nick Saban himself took notice to at his 2016 and 2017 camps. Jared was named to the All-Saban Team as a Long Snapper and also as a Tight End in 2016, while in 2017 being named to the All-Saban Team as a Long Snapper once again. Being such a asset at so many different positions throughout Pickens young career shows the versatility he will bring the next few years to the field and when he arrives at the next level. Jared is able to snap the football between .2-.3 tenth's of a second back to his place holder, who is able to place the ball effortlessly to the turf, because of Jared's impeccable accuracy on his field goal snaps. The efficiency, timing and mechanics exhibited are some of the best in the game, and he can even snap the ball faster I am told if directed to. This young man has a scary resemblance to a hall of fame center named Mike Webster, who snapped for my father on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pickens will be coming to snap and play all over the field at our 2019 Scout Trout All-American Bowl! There will plenty to update as the season goes on about this young man, as he is a consistent hard worker that works daily to perfect his craft, as well as being a stand-out student-athlete! ![]() Anthony Zimmerman comes to us from Hershey High School in Pennsylvania and is one of the most tenacious and technically sound linebackers I have seen for the Class of 2020. With the ability to diagnose plays extremely quickly, Zimmerman is in the backfield time and time again, creating havoc for his opponents. On the first play of Anthony's All-American highlights, you will see him gain perfect inside leverage with his arm extended to keep the offensive linemen off of him and then is able to make a bone shattering tackle deep into the opponents backfield. As a blitzing linebacker, Zimmerman is one of the quickest I have seen through the gap and he is able to once again meet the ball carrier as soon as he receives the hand-off. Zimmerman plays with great acceleration and speed on both sides of the football, while he also is a featured fullback in the traditional wing-t offense. He proves to be a tough runner with great instincts and vision when taking the read-option hand offs and wastes no time getting the ball moving downhill for big chunks of yards. Zimmerman's special teams play is what garnered him his teams specialist MVP award, as he is a master at blocking punts and kicks alike. Anthony keenly lines up over center and uses his supreme athletics to accelerate past the long snapper before he can get his head up to locate Anthony to make his block. Even when the Guard is able to step down to attempt to fill the A-GAP, Anthony proves to be to quick and keeps his pad level perfect, along with being able to gain instant leverage going through the hole and than is able to perfectly time his blocked punts and kicks. Anthony can be seen coming off the edge at around 3:00 minutes into his film and comes unblocked to get to the proper ball trajectory point and make another game-changing play. Anthony shows stellar ability when he performs inside "stunts" on opposing field goal block unit and is even seen twisting to the opposite gap so instinctively he is able to create dynamic plays on special teams at any given moment of a contest. Anthony is seen playing with great leverage and overall technique in the box, as time and time again, he is able to use his hands swiftly and precisely to detach from oncoming blockers in order to find the ball carrier. Anthony led the Varsity Ball Club at Hershey High School in tackles this past season and was a dominant force on special teams, which helped garner his Scout Trout Class of 2020 All-American nomination and #4 overall national linebacker ranking. With Anthony's stellar athletics and tackling ability, while also being coached by a former Penn State and Oakland Raider stand-out Linebacker in Bani Gbadyu, who had this to say about Class of 2020 All-American Anthony Zimmerman. "Anthony was a better LB as a Sophomore than I was in High School, and he was a pleasure to coach, and Anthony is one heck of an Athlete”! That's saying a lot coming from a player from Linebacker U, and who was picked up by the Oakland Raiders". One thing I learned about linebackers who played the game and thrived at the highest level is that they will not fabricate their evaluations on a young student-athlete. Zimmerman shows all of the characteristics of another big time talent from "Linebacker U" and will be a joy to watch this year on the gridiron in the heavily talented and tough football state of Pennsylvania. PENN STATE - LINEBACKER U!
Ethan Papineau is an exceptional student-athlete from Winnipeg, Canada and has outstanding athletics for an interior linemen. Ethan shows great quickness of the line of scrimmage and is able to create instant havoc in the backfield. He never takes a play off and because of his enormous success on the field in 2016, Ethan will often draw a double-team from the opposing offensive linemen. Even when double-teamed, Ethan is consistently creating penetration into the backfield and after he picks up the fumble at 1:00 into his 2017 highlights, I have not seen too many class of 2020 defensive linemen motor this quickly downfield! You can see more of his top-notch acceleration, as Papineau beats his man for a vicious QB sack! Despite the severe holding on the very last play, Papineau still fights his way to the ball carrier through traffic to make another tackle. Ethan dominated the circuit as a freshmen (below) and you will see much more of the same quickness and overall athletics as those seen throughout the top of college football, as our game is being played faster by the minute. Ethan is an extremely hard worker on and off the field. His improvements in bench press in being able to put up 225LBS around 5 times is on the right path to outstanding upper body strength, but his overall ability to find the football and beat his man off the line of scrimmage is what makes the great Ethan Papineau our 3rd globally ranked Canadian. Scout Trout has been asked to run bowl games and camps in both Canada and now Australia, as we head forward into this wonderful Class of 2019 recruiting Class. I want to thank the College Football world for believing in our efforts and for also having that third eye that blinds out the medias stars and is able to flip on actual game footage to truly evaluate a prospect. I am extremely eager to see how far Ethan, Edrick and Aaron can go, as they all are extremely talented young men who are worthy of a College Football scholarship in the United States of America. I mean, if Nathan Shepherd can do it, there is no reason these exceptional athletes can't. Congrats Ethan for being GLOBALLY RANKED and keep working hard on and off the field to move up!
Hudson Walker comes to us from El Diamante High School in the extremely competitive football state of California. With tremendous academics and overall athletics for a Class of 2020 prospect, Walker has received major interest from Stanford, Arizona State, NorthWestern, Fresno State and Princeton in his early stages of FBS/IVY League recruitment. Hudson is extremely quick off the football and possesses a tall frame that he keenly uses to create "dead plays" for his defense, even 2020 Rankingswhen he is unable to get the QB Sack to bat down passes. He is seen on the first play of his stand-out highlights making a terrific move to the inside on the offensive tackle, as he stands him straight up and is able to utilize his hands and upper body strength to remove the defender and dart to the inside for a QB sack. The speed he shows in pursuing the QB on the 2nd play is quite remarkable for a Class of 2020 D-Line prospect and is partly what secured Hudson Walker as the #2 Ranked Defensive End Prospect for Class of 2020 in the nation. When you combine his play on the field, remarkable academics, overall potential, level of competition and other intricate variables into the prospect evaluation model. You will not find to many prospects like Hudson and some of our other Class of 2020 stand-out Student-Athletes! Walker's ability to get off the football with great acceleration is a major reason for his success and when you combine this with his stellar hand placement with his overall strength, you wind up with a 5-Star Recruit in the world of Collegiate Football. Hudson is seen "keeping contain" very well at 1:12 into his highlights and is able to attack the ball carrier to make a great play in the backfield. Hudson could drop back in a 3-4 type defensive scheme and play as a stand-up linebacker, as he reminds me of a very young Jack Lambert, due to their very similar traits and body types. Especially when you see this young man's helmet fly off and him continue to FINISH another tremendous tackle in the backfield. Hudson is seen using very quick reflexes on the next play, as he is motoring after the QB at full steam and is able to stop very quickly to peel back and grab the loose fumble. The play at 2:06 is the best example of how fast Hudson is able to get from the line of scrimmage from the snap and on this play, wind up on the fumbled shotgun exchange and the QB once again. Hudson gets low and uses a great "rip and dip" move that gets him to the QB to deliver a brutal blow to his blind-side. Hudson's overall speed and acceleration is unheard of at this age, and it is a testament of the hard work he has put in during the off-season, with the same trainer Julian Edelman used to help him become so explosive. Hudson's swim move at 3:28 is one of the quickest and most effective I have seen nationally, and he shows great lateral movement when attacking the ball carriers in the running lanes. The next play, you will see more of how Hudson could stand up and play as a OLB in various collegiate defensive schemes and/or drop into coverage as a DE. Hudson is able to read screen passes instinctively, then quickly halts his pass rush to the QB to make another beautiful pass break-up. Walker is a nightmare for QB's in the 3-step passing game, as he is able to do a great job timing their release, then getting his hands up immediately upon recognition. Even when scraping down the line of scrimmage while holding the edge, Hudson is able to react extremely quickly to bat down another ball, as seen at 4:26 into his highlights. Hudson is seen beaming down field on Kickoff team on the last few plays of his Class of 2020 #2 Nationally Ranked College Football Prospect Footage and once again shows his speed training is paying off. Hudson was the only sophomore in his league to receive an "All-League" selection, and you can certainly see why on his highlights above. When it comes to judging upside and overall potential, I was deemed the best, by one of the best ever in D1 College Football recruiting. I do not see this kid failing, on or off the field at the next level and have deemed him a 5-Star prospect (Pro-Potential), based off of known FACTS, visible translations to some of the greats in our game (Lambert/JJ Watt) and my precise knowledge of what it takes to succeed at a high level in the sport of football. When the Top 100 comes out for Class of 2020, be sure to look for this young man to be among the very top of THE SCOUT TROUT ELITE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PROSPECT RANKINGS! Tobin has garnered the top defensive line spot on Scout Trout's initial Class of 2020 National Rankings and with UCLA visiting him at his school. Not to mention Stanford, Utah, NorthWestern and Princeton have all reached out to Tobin and his family. Tobin has a 4.0 GPA and a 1300 PSAT, when you combine the 4.7, 40-yard dash speed and the agility shown in the film above, Tobin is arguably the best OVERALL prospect in the entire nation for the Class of 2020! Tobin moves extremely fluently around the bags in D-Linemen drills and shows amazing finesse and power moves for such a young prospect. You will see a beautiful swim move to the inside on the first play of his Class of 2020 highlights and he is instantly at the QB with his cat like agility. Despite playing with a broken hand (pink cast), Tobin shows remarkable game speed. and you can very visibly see his high motor and 4.7 speed at 1:45 into his astonishing highlights. There are not many weaknesses to point out in Tobin's game, as he uses his superior athleticism to make plays and dominate offenses in the State of California. If anything, he can keep his "pad level", a little lower upon engagement on pass rushes, but this will obviously improve with his extremely high football IQ and paired honors society academics. On the next play at DT, he uses a very powerful bull rush and quick "get off" to create even more mayhem in the backfield, as this young man checks out as Scout Trout's Trench Monster PART 2! Honestly, he would be ranked near the top for my Class of 2019 Defensive Linemen, and this well oiled machine is coming for the top spot in the nation on every college football prospect ranking site in America, once word starts to circulate among the collegiate staffs. He shows a great ability to stop the run and is one tough young man once he arrives at the ball carrier. Playing at his size with this type of speed and knowledge, Tobin brings some of the hardest hits I have seen on blockers and ball carriers nationally. When I was in search of the top player for Class of 2020, I looked on ALL of the major recruiting networks and did not find Tobin's name anywhere on ANY list. It is an honor to be able to name him our #1 overall prospect for the Class of 2020 and the body of work CLEARLY speaks for itself when it comes to justifying this young man's national ranking and 5-Star prospect rating.
