How to start getting recruited by college football teams

1. NCAA Clearinghouse (Obtain ID #)
2. FAFSA Report - So a College knows how much your tuition will cost
3. Application through Admissions - if a school tells you to apply, APPLY! They like players who can get in school first and then can offer football money! So apply, apply and apply some more! (Some school's will waive app fee, if asked)

How to Get Recruited for Football Division 1

FBS Power 5

The early signing period was for the so-called players with Stars, most of these guys might pan out, but the media circus and political powers that be, push them to the very top of teams boards. Rivals and Scout have cornered college football teams into ranking recruiting classes, while going by a high school player or parents word on who has offered a scholarship. This is all EXTREMELY misleading on the facts and as I stated before, only some of these players have made it to the top of their game, as projected. I have projected the rise and fall of almost every athlete based off attitude and the ability to learn, combined with the raw football talent that exists in nearly every corner of America today. That being said, the month of January is spent giving out the rest of teams scholarships, after they have one last evaluation at their bowl games and then they fill the spots needed for their team. Usually, by the time our event comes, most of these teams will still have scholarships available and are looking for the best of the so-called "overlooked" prospects.

Mid-Majors

Mid-majors include every program that is not in the power 5 conferences, which are Big Ten, SEC, ACC, PAC 12 and Big 12. They decidedly pursue players throughout the coming month and into March and April. In fact, I got calls from the likes of Arkansas State last year around that time with offers left to give out. Those who have already dwindled away by this time are usually lost in the shuffle, and if your not being pushed in the right direction, you're going to fall by the wayside in terms of playing college football, as it will appear that you are a quitter and cannot handle playing at a collegiate level. Those who trust the process and remain diligent will always prevail in the end when it comes to recruiting, as these are the players college football players are looking for.

Football Championship Sub-Division

These schools fall along the same lines as the mid-majors, except they will recruit much longer. Montana just happen to hit me up last year in AUGUST! Camp was beginning in a week or two and they still had spots to fill. This could be because someone got injured at a critical position and/or they simply just did not show up (happens a lot). Some players will think they met the girl of their dreams (maybe you did) and decide to stay home and be a stay at home dad. Some will get in legal trouble and wind up in prison (get that story every year). There are many life circumstances that will develop in players lives across the board that will prevent them from taking the offer presented. These schools are producing NFL ball players at a all-time high and if you haven't noticed, they are leading the way in the new era of the NFL Reese's Senior Bowl.

D2 Football ANd NAIA Football

D3 Football/Transfer Rules

Division three football is not allowed to give athletic scholarships, but if they want you bad enough, there will be alternative options to help with the ending balance. If you aspire to play D1 football and just won't let go of that dream, then you will be hard pressed starting at the D3 level, as you will have to sit out one full academic year before you can even practice with you team. The Juco/NAIA route has no consequences if you one day decide to move up, through dominating the level you are at. There is nothing wrong with having a chip on your shoulder, but if you desire to make it to the top, you must walk tall and carry a big stick. They are not just gonna hand anything to you, as those who have made it to the elite of college coaching, had to work extremely hard to get everything they attained.
