Michael Benson is a enormously powerful kicker out of Jackson High School in southern Ohio. With 38 touch-back's on the season and a long of 63 for field goals, Benson also possesses the ability to punt at a extremely high level, with a 45 yard average on the season. With a very smooth approach on kickoffs, Michael is able to use very good kickoff technique to blast the ball out the back of the end-zone to start his film. Michael's hang time on kickoff's fall between 3.6 seconds, all the way up to 4.2 seconds, on some of his bombs downfield, which is extremely impressive in high school. Michael is a very accurate and powerful punter as well, as seen in his wonderful season highlight's above. Michael can place the ball out of bounds and/or inside the 20 on demand and is even good at the rugby style punt that is used in College and some Pro football today. Benson shows great toughness as a football player, at around 6:00 minutes into his film. Michael is able to make a great touchdown saving tackle and does not sit back on his heels as the return man approaches, instead he fills the gap like a LINEBACKER to make a great tackle. On field goals, Michael shows a very good approach and the ball really JUMPS off of his foot with great lift/velocity. Showing outstanding accuracy on the season with only 4 missed kicks in total. Michael Benson has accepted his invitation as a Scout Trout All-American and will be heading to Mobile, Alabama for our All-American Bowl game! Look forward to working with you and also happy about there being NO RETURNS, at the 2018 Scout Trout All-American Bowl!
