TOP 2022 FOOTBALL RECRUITS![]()
Top 2022 football recruits will be updated into a new 2022 Top 300 by week's end and new top 2022 Hybrid/Edge recruit Malachi Youman has found himself ranked highly in our 2022 LB recruit rankings at College Football Today. Youman is on his way to being one of the most coveted edge rushers in the nation and is very explosive in the trenches for Harris County. Malachi is very stout at holding the edge and maintains inside leverage extremely well, while being able to locate the ball carrier to make the tackle. At around 1:04 into Youman's Sophomore season highlight's below, he shows off his overall strength by simply puts the offensive tackle on "skates" and tosses him out of the way for the QB sack. TOP EDGE RECRUITS![]()
Top edge recruits should also be able to make an impact in the running game and Malachi is one of the strongest I have seen upon engagement. Youman is able to detach very easily from blockers, as he creates an instant push off the snap of the football with his quickness and is able to knock linemen into the backfield with his upper body strength. He fits as a Hybrid OLB/DE at the next level, as he is able to easily block shed and take on oncoming fullbacks. In a 3-4 scheme, he could transition to an OLB role, as he has the motor and speed to make an immediate impact on whatever team he lines up for. He moves very well laterally for a defensive end and will continue to develop his fast twitch that is needed to devour QB's at the next level. There are not to many recruits that play with such great technique, as I continue to watch Youman keep his arms extended and beating double-teams in his 2019 highlight's.
TOP FOOTBALL RECRUITS
Top football recruits at College Football Today has our Mid-March re-rank upon us and we are extremely excited about new editions like Malachi Youman joining the STEP ratings series. When examining potential top football recruits, you must take into consideration many factors like work ethic and style of play that translates to the next level. When I watch Malachi play in the talent rich and extremely physical State of Georgia, I am reminded of what it takes to be a superior pass rusher and edge recruit, as he plays the game with his fire lit at all times. TOP LINEBACKER RECRUITS![]()
I know a thing or two about top linebacker recruits and got to suit up in the Arena League at the MAC linebacker position. There was flooding in the arena we were supposed to play in during the catastrophic hurricanes in South,Texas years ago, but the great football State of Texas still constructed a field for us at a farm show complex. Anyways, the opposing teams roster had mostly D1 linemen that played at UT, Texas A&M and other world renowned college football programs. I was #22 for a new Arena team in Colorado I was going to get in shape in so I could take another crack at kicking in the NFL. One source from Texas told me that I was able to tally over 20 tackles and a safety, as I do not know the total because I had lost count. This was not an attempt to ad any credentials to what I do, I played with sloppy technique, but came hard and with a lot piss & vinegar, as Coach Prunty liked to call it.
Shortly After, Scout Trout became Full-Time (7th documented COncussion)
A dream of mine was to always hit a drop kick in a game, I got the chance to go 1-2 on drop kick field goals, which did not end well on the second attempt.
FOOTBALL RECRUITING![]()
Football recruiting and life in general takes the ability to overcome adversity time and time again, if you want to achieve your life long dreams and aspirations. There is no short cut and those who are not tested we will see in the transfer portal and/or fizzling out before their career's even start at the collegiate level. I have met many throughout my journey who were able to instill these core principles and beliefs into the way I expect things to operate today. Listen to the full interview with Hampton HC Robert Prunty below on our former Scout Trout Elite podcast, which has since moved to CollegeFootballToday.Org.
CREATING THE NARRATIVE
Creating the narrative for your own final life outcome is pivotal in transitioning to the next stages of your individual careers. We all know the difference between right wrong for the most part, but our daily choices will drastically affect the rest of our lives and define others narratives for us. This is where you can draw line in the sand and choose to become ELITE or fall by the wayside with the modern day "Sheeple" of planet earth. Someone will always be looking to claim what you desire, as football is some young men's only hope of getting out of their current economical circumstances and an education. What's most intriguing to me is the people that have been most influential in my overall growth, have been some of the amazing student-athletes I have gotten to work with over the past four years. Not every athlete is destined for greatness on the field, but life can still be conquered off it if we stick the principles of defining out process, as well as How to Build a House. One of my kickers visited me years ago while living in Colorado and started "The Story of Merf Trout", who is still creating the narrative for the future of College Football Today - One STEP at a time.
