If there were an "eBook" or tutorial on how you should carry yourself as a student-athlete, it would feature the flourishing defensive back Joe Jackson's body of work. Joe Jackson was named 1st team All-Conference and 1st team All-Big 12 (IL) scholar-athlete last season, while leading the Knights in tackles. Joe plays very fast and aggressive, but after observing his film, I realized Joe plays with spectacular technique as well. Joe is able to play up in the box very well, as he knows how to maintain outside contain and gain leverage on an opponent. Joe fits many defensive schemes and can play in the defensive backfield or as an outside linebacker. He comes from a family of hard working athletes, and he appears to have worked his way back wonderfully from a broken foot. Joe has been working on his footwork hard this summer, and it certainly showed at the Illinois State camp, which is featured on Mr. Jackson's Instagram below. Joe also received his first offer the other day and had a great showing at the Southern Illinois camp! Jackson has a very long list of school's interested and is known for steady and consistent play, along with ball hawking ability. He is a leader on the defensive side of the football and will excel on special teams at the next level with his athletics and tackling abilities instantly. If Joe comes back with the same season that he did last year, he will certainly obtain more offers from one of the hundreds of programs that are interested in this outstanding student-athlete from Richwoods High School in Peoria,IL!
