Top 2022 DB recruits at College Football Today is a star studded list that Mr.Anderson is joining and Cannon has a brilliant upside, as far as overall potential is concerned at the next level. As I stated in his Scout Trout Elite defensive backs scouting profile, Cannon could easily turn into a big time SS/OLB with his physical style of play and athletic frame. When he is seen coming from the free safety position downhill on the first play of his 2019 highlight's above and with the physicality he plays with at the safety position, Cannon reminds me of a member of the Legion of Boom! Top safety recruits at College Football Today are located on our Top 2022 DB recruit rankings, as well as the Scout Trout Elite Defensive Backs scouting database. 

Norfolk, Virginia native and former Virginia Tech Hokie Kam Chancellor made a living off of being the enforcer on the defensive side of the football throughout his illustrious NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks. Chancellor was listed at 6'3,239 LBS, which made him one of the biggest Defensive backs in NFL history. Class of 2022 DB recruit Cannon Anderson is already 6'0,180 LBS and still growing, but has the same tenacity in his style of play that "Kam Bam" exhibited throughout his career. Kam was not on many's radar as a top football recruit and was actually rated the 27th best pro style QB in the Nation, as Scout.com rated him a 2 star recruit, after he accepted an offer from Virginia Tech. - Per Wikipedia

2022 TOP DB RECRUITS

Top 2022 DB recruits at Scout Trout Elite & College Football Today features many recruits who have received offers early in the process, as well as D1 commits like Michigan phenom Myles Rowser (IMG Academy). When it comes to hard hitting safeties that are able to fill running lanes abruptly and can deliver painstaking blows to ball carriers, there are not many we have seen like Rowser and Anderson in the 2022 football recruiting class. Cannon use outstanding tackling technique when arriving at ball carriers, as he never stops his feet and is finishes tackles with great physicality. He is not easily fooled by ball fakes, as seen on the QB spread-option at around :51 seconds into his 2019 highlight's, where he is able to stuff the dual-threat QB before he can get moving downfield. When you watch all of the tackles in Anderson's 2019 footage, you will never see him give ground and most of the time he is able drive ball carriers the opposite direction. On kick return, Anderson is able to field the kickoff cleanly at 1:17 into his highlight's and proceeds to pull out the "All-Madden Truck Stick", while moving with great burst up the sideline. With the ability to cover sideline to sideline and the outstanding overall combine numbers that Anderson has produced, we believe Anderson will continue to grow into one of the best 2022 Safety recruits at College Football Today.

Some recruits that have received offers, have combine stats, academics, camp footage and workout videos, but no game footage, received 5 points out of 20 for football skill which affected their overall STEP rating.
