TOP 2023 SPECIALIST RECRUITS

When College Football Today releases their Top 2023 specialist recruits, I believe 2023 kicker Ty Miller could find himself ranked very highly and he has already built a foundation of glorious work in the kicking game. Ty has worked with some of the best kicking and punting coaches in the game of American football, as he strives to be the best kicker in the nation and has the abilities to do so. I found a picture on his Twitter profile of the legendary Ray Guy, who we will get into more later in this scouting report and it is a true testament of what he could become down the road. He has worked my friends at NKR, who selected my 2020 HS All-American specialists and the one on one kicking coaches in Louisiana. Both parties do an excellent job at developing top specialists recruits and Ty Miller has soaked up all of the knowledge along the way. 2023 TOP KICKER RECRUIT

2023 top kicker recruit Ty Miller scored a fantastic round in the NKR kicking chart featured above, as well as demonstrated a very consistent approach to the football. He proves to have outstanding kicking technique and is able to keep his eyes locked on the football through contact. Keeping your head on the football through point of contact is able to create maximum power on the football, as you are using your entire body to strike the pigskin. This also generates great ball lift and when you have a great plant location like Ty Miller, you can create maximum ball lift as well as accuracy. Watching the football jump off of Miller's foot, while paused at :44 seconds, proves Ty is way beyond his years in the kicking game. He strikes the football perfectly and scores 2 points on the NKR charting system, while generating outstanding initial ball lift. You will also see his left arm coming across his body to control him from swinging out to the left, which is why this ball is able to fly straight down the middle of the Arena Football goal posts. In the kicks ensuing, you will hear Coach Brian Jackson say the word smashed and Ty Miller finished the chart as only a Top 2023 kicker recruit would.

TOP 2023 KICKER RECRUIT

In a more recent workout, top 2023 kicker recruit Ty Miller is seen in a snap, hold kick operation. Top 2023 kicker recruit Ty Miller is able to complete another stellar chart and is able to go back to 53 yards, with an adequate operation in front of him. He actually proves to strike the football more precisely with a full snap, hold and kick operation, which proves what kind of athlete we are dealing in Ty Miller. Having been the son of a former NFL Kicker, who was 100% self-taught, I have not seen many in any recruiting class with the overall kicking skill that Ty Miller possesses in the kicking game. We could compare him to Rodrigo Blankenship because of his glasses, but he missed a field goal to win the game against South Carolina. I believe Ty Miller is more trustworthy in pressure situations, due to his immense amount of training off the field and has my full attention moving forward, as we begin to add the top 2022 and 2023 specialists to our recruit rankings at College Football Today. 

TOP SPECIALIST RECRUITS

Top specialist recruits need to demonstrate the ability to block out distractions and trust their technique that has been ingrained through their coaching, as well as their own daily processes. This is not an easy task when there are 80-100 thousand ravaging fans that are praying you miss. Miller not only shows the ability to strike a football, but also is able to hit solid balls when things aren't so perfect in front of him operationally. This could have something to do with his coaching from the best athlete to ever put his foot to a pigskin, as Ray Guy will forever be the best overall athlete to boot a pigskin. From traveling all through Mississippi and Louisiana, the legend will forever live on, as many have stated he could pitch a no hitter and kick/pass a football 100 yards. I still have to see that to this day and I happy to be apart of the recruiting journey of top 2023 kicker recruit Ty Miller. So far, his long in practice is 55 yards and his longest in a game, as a Freshmen was 37 yards. I expect big things out Ty Miller moving forward and many game winners throughout his illustrious career as a College Football Today top specialist recruit.
