When comparing Jamari's skill-set to top college quarterbacks of the past, he reminds me of former NFL First Round Pick and Marshall Thundering Herd quarterback Byron Leftwich. At this point in Johnson's career, he is more athletic than Leftwich was, but possesses the same pin-point accuracy and arm strength that landed Byron as a top 10 pick in the NFL Draft. Leftwich was not a very mobile QB and was clocked at a 5.1, 40 yard dash, while Jamari has been witnessed burning a 4.7, 40 and he proves to be very mobile when buying time in the pocket. Byron's NFL career might have not lived up to expectations, as he never seemed to have the protection up front to deliver the football like he did at Marshall. But he did win a Super Bowl and was selected to the 2003 NFL All-Rookie team, after compiling nearly 12,000 yards passing and 89 touchdowns at the University of Marshall.
