TOP 2021 OL/DL RECRUIT 6'3,295 LB AUSTIN RAMEY Archbishop McNicholas HS (OH) 5 STAR FOOTBALL RECRUIT REPORT
TOP 2021 OL RECRUIT
Top 2021 OL recruit Austin Ramey is one of the most versatile and brutalizing linemen in the nation, as he is able to pulverize defenders upon engaging and is able to quickly propel to the second level of the defense. Lining up against a 4 star recruit at Defensive Tackle, Ramey gains leverage instantly and creates an immediate push into the opponents backfield, while being able to disengage to tackle the ball carrier for no gain. Austin uses the same tenacity, grit and technique on the offensive side of the football and has an exceptional engage to pancake ratio. He is a certified mauler, who fits at the D1 level as an offensive guard and has the versatility to be utilized anywhere on the offensive front or as a defensive tackle. He certainly knows how to use his strength and body to the max, as he never ceases to stop moving his feet when plowing defenders into the turf. He also could fit as 3-4 nose guard, as he manhandles his way through double teams and uses his hands extremely well to fend off O-linemen, while being able to locate the football to make tackles. Top 2021 OL/DL recruit Austin Ramey has been added to our Top 2021 OG recruits at College Football Today.
5 STAR FOOTBALL RECRUITS
Many 5 star football recruits were labeled 5 stars by members of the media who know very little about the game of American football. 99% of them never played the game or were even involved in any capacity, besides creating a narrative that simply didn't make sense to many in the world of College Football Today. In my opinion, guys like 2021 QB Trent Battle are the epitome of a 5 star or highly rated recruit and it was nice to get confirmation from his new head coach at Texas Christian. Having ranked over 2,000 football recruits from 2021 to the class of 2023 thus far, I feel that young men like top 2021 OL recruit Austin Ramey are becoming heavily overlooked through the process. The fact that Austin was able to dominate a 4 star football recruit for four quarters, proves my opinion is concrete as the evidence should be found on the field of play and in the classroom. Ramey is not only a dominating linemen on both sides of the football, but he possesses a 3.85 GPA and a 28 ACT score, as he obviously is an extremely dedicated and diligent student-athlete. His film above was honestly one of the best I have seen in my five years scouting, after I retired from my playing career. He is able to move men against their will better than Russ Grimm did at his age and is dominating on the defensive side of the football, as a defensive tackle or nose guard recruit. Some say 6'3,285 doesn't fit the D1 prototype, but one of my top 30 football recruits in the 2021 Top 700+ Brock Dieu, recently committed to Washington State University.
Like most things in life, football recruiting comes down to many different opinions, evaluations and sadly to say ego's. Having played football my entire life and been involved in the game in some capacity for 27 years, I know how big some players, coaches and management's ego's can really be. Not saying I didn't have one myself as a player, but I have learned not to let that affect my rational thinking and decision making. Am I wrong sometimes, of course, but when looking back, I was correct on over 95% of my evaluations and predictions. You can't always be right when you have over 2,000 recruits on a list, which is why companies like ESPN, 247 & Rivals only rank based off of offers and only go 300 deep. They are not film evaluators, but instead are writers that want to sell subscriptions to fan bases. This is not a bad thing, except it places doubt in many football players who don't have stars on their overall abilities at the next level. The fact of the matter is there are many intriguing coaching minds in the world of College Football Today, that need a certain system fit player to get their scheme running at a high capacity on the playing field. Coaches also have many different philosophies on the characteristics that they desire in a highly regarded football recruit, which is why stars really do not matter in the end game. Except, for the monetization of a high school athlete, so they can sell their subscriptions. If Louisville makes around 1.42 million dollars a year off a highly regarded recruit, how much do you think 247 Sports, Rivals and ESPN are making off of high school athletes? I bet the number is pretty large or the named corporations wouldn't waste their time. I have always wondered why parents of top football recruits don't ask for their slice of the pie? I guess they are all about exposure and media hype, as they believe that is the golden ticket to maximum offers and the National Football League. Many players that I have assisted in the past in recruiting have gone from 0 stars to at least 4 stars, after they accumulated up to 88 FBS offers, which was more than ANY 5 star football recruit on the other guys lists. One broke the Texas State rushing record and I ranked him the number one football recruit in the 2019 recruiting class. Getting Daimarqua Foster on the radar helped him earn an offer to Virginia Tech and only then did the rest of the Big 12 come calling. Having hundreds of cases and valid evidence that stars are created by incompetent individuals, led me to the creation of College Football Today.
247 SPORTS FB RECRUITING
247 sports FB recruiting uses an algorithm derived off of national recruit rankings that exist in the public domain. When you think about whose in the public domain, it honestly has just been Rivals & ESPN that they are using as their go to source. After being the first to rank the 2021, 2022 & 2023 football recruiting classes and seeing the amount of offers that the players earned, I got to see them pop up on 247 Sports. Most of them were not listed on Rivals or ESPN, until after they were placed onto 247 Sports. I spent the last 2 years learning how to make my other website CollegeFootballToday.Org the authority in football recruiting according to search engines. Let's use Google as the example, as they rank based off of credibility on topics. The exert below is from Google and can be found by clicking HERE!
"Beyond matching the words in your query with relevant documents on the web, Search algorithms also aim to prioritize the most reliable sources available. To do this, our systems are designed to identify signals that can help determine which pages demonstrate expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness on a given topic."
COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY
College Football Today strives to find guys who will be contributors on and off the field at the next level. Obviously, from reading my obvious conclusion above, we do not care about a players stars or anyone media members analysis. Going to battle with guys like Kirk Herbstreit, Mel Kiper and many others over the past few years and easily debunking their cases, it even more enhanced the credibility factor based off of knowledge of the game of college football and the NFL Draft. Having seen guys like Matthias Algarin climb the STEP ladder and ultimately gain what they rightfully deserved, I focused more on how I could better myself and the STEP program in it's entirety. After Rivals.com notably ranked a fake college football recruit and 247 Sports listed him for a brief amount of time, I decided that it was time to take action and step up. Football is not a game for attention driven individuals, but instead a game that takes dedication, diligence and honed skills. Ultimately, those are the best football players that we see on TV on Sundays and players like Tom Brady, James Harrison, Patrick Mahomes II and many more, were not considered to be big time recruits coming out of high school. With all of that being said, there are many outstanding star rated recruits and there are many that are just average football players to me when I evaluate their film. All in all, I believe that cream will always rise to the top through the process, even if their happens to be a lot of bacteria that you must push through to get to your final destination in football and in life.
SCOUT TROUT ELITE
Scout Trout Elite started on Thanksgiving in 2016 and a kicker that I was training helped me start this website. After that, I had to learn on the fly and adapt daily to new ideology, cultures and the direction I wanted to take to better the recruiting process for the student-athletes. Learning something new daily and putting it into action was my STEP program and if you can develop that kind of tenacity in your personal growth as a student-athlete, you will find yourself in the winners circle daily. Eventually, your gonna have to compete with the big dogs and the sharks of the ecosystem if you want to reach your ultimate goals on and off the field.
