TOP 2021 LB RECRUIT

Top 2021 LB recruit Ian MacDonald entered the scouting database a few weeks back and graded out extremely well in College Football Today's 2021 national LB recruit rankings. Ian had an outstanding junior season and has the overall athletics that quickly earned him his first college offer from Lyon College. MacDonald possesses 4.6 speed and proves to be able to move extremely well laterally with a 4.27 pro shuttle. His ability to cover ground quickly and overall linebacker instincts really impressed me on tape, as he is arguably one of the best available 2021 football recruits coming out of the Mid-West. The Edmund Memorial standout linebacker is also a high performer academically and possesses a 3.857 GPA, along with a 23 ACT score, which will make him a highly recruited player nationally at all levels of College Football Today. In his new 2020 footage against Moore HS, MacDonald proves once again to be able to collapse the pocket as a blitzing linebacker and locates the football rapidly when diagnosing run plays. He is an extremely sure tackler and will operate at an extremely high level with his cheetah like closing speed ,as either an MLB or OLB and has the speed to play as a strong safety. 2021 TOP LB RECRUIT

2021 top LB recruit Ian MacDonald has outstanding overall linebacker instincts and reads plays quickly, while possessing great closing speed in pursuit of the football. Ian is a very proficient LB and a technically sound tackling machine for Edmund Memorial, who has excellent overall athletics for a rising 2021 LB recruit. MacDonald could fit into either a MLB or OLB role, as he is able to identify pass quickly and has great hip fluidity when dropping into coverage to break up passes. He is able to detach from blockers quickly while bursting through traffic and abruptly halt ball carriers forward progress. MacDonald's play on the field and stellar academics has him nominated as a College Football Today 2021 Academic All-American and he will be a key contributor to any LB corp at the next level.
