The top 2021 football recruit at College Football Today was announced a few days ago and top 2021 QB Aidan Thompson sits at the number one overall after key attributes in our STEP ratings were identified. I could visibly see why teams like Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, Texas State, Tulsa, Notre Dame, Miss State, SMU, Princeton, Harvard, Penn, Colorado State and Cincinnati are highly interested in this young man's skill set at the QB position. TOP 2021 QB RECRUIT

Top 2021 QB recruit Aidan Thompson can make all the throws needed to excel in a college style offense and I value the touch, along with precision that this young man displays in his passing abilities. To be able to pass the likes of Michigan recruit JJ McCarthy on my board, who has a very different style of play with his sometimes chaotic display of brilliance, you needed to be able to drop dimes into tight spaces on the football field. Aidan shows this on the first play of his 2018 highlight's above, while he also demonstrates outstanding technique in his delivery. Aidan is able to throw his receivers open to a spot and does not waste much time in getting the football out of his hands to do so, which only the truly elite QB's in the NFL can do today.

TOP QB RECRUIT 2021

The top QB recruit in the 2021 recruiting class throws an extremely catch-able football and his receivers do not have to break eye contact with the ball. This reminded a lot of how the number one overall draft pick Kyler Murray delivered the football, which ended up winning him the 2018 Heisman Trophy, as one of the best passing Quarterbacks to ever take the field in College Football Today. When you are able to throw the wide receivers open to a spot early, pass rushers also do not have time to get to the Quarterback and defensive backs have a very hard time locating the football in flight. As you will see on Aidan's tape above, he throws the football far in advance of the receivers break and the ball drops in at eye level so the receiver does not have to break stride.

2021 TOP QUARTERBACK RECRUIT

2021 top Quarterback recruit Aidan Thompson also shows the ability to deliver beautiful back shoulder throws, as seen on the third play of his highlight's, which makes a defensive backs life miserable at the next level. The DB can be in perfect "over the top" positioning and still get toasted when Thompson unleashes the football on time and with great velocity. When he wants to put some zip on the football over the middle of the field, Aidan can uncork the football unlike any QB I have seen in the 2021 recruiting class and once again delivers an extremely accurate football around mid-chest to face mask level for his receivers. Watching how quickly the football travels from point A to point B on his throw up the sideline and how Aidan whips with his body once again hitting his receiver in stride at around :42 seconds, made me wonder if other analyst are even evaluating talent these day. On the next play, Aidan shows the ability to avoid pressure, as he has some of the best combine numbers for a 2021 QB recruit and overall athletics with his "pro style" frame. He once again delivers the ball very accurately and with exceptional velocity downfield, but this wasn't what made him the number one overall recruit at College Football Today.

#1 OVERALL FOOTBALL RECRUIT

The #1 overall football recruit at College Football Today can score at any given moment on the football field and especially in the red-zone, as he exhibits not only great arm strength, but extraordinary touch passes that land in the receivers bread basket.  At around 3:31, Aidan Thompson became the #1 overall recruit in my eyes, as he delivers the football beautifully over the top of the defense with very little room to work with to a spot only his receiver can make the play. He throws the deep routes better then any QB I have seen yet thus far and will still have a lot to prove to me moving forward, as the likes of JJ McCarthy and Kaden McMullen are five star QB's in their own right. This is the most exciting class of Quarterbacks I have worked with thus far at Scout Trout Elite and I am very excited for the future of football at the QB position moving forward in the prestigious world of College Football Today.
