TOP 2020 LINEBACKER RECRUIT
Top 2020 linebacker recruit Connor Mayfield could arguably be considered one of the top middle linebackers in the nation when watching him on tape last season. He is a straight bull when meeting running backs in the hole and reads plays decisively as a top 2020 linebacker recruit. Watch this very technically sound and disruptive linebacker below in his 2018 highlight's and tell me I am wrong in my assessment of Connor Mayfield.
2020 HS ALL-AMERICAN LB
2020 HS All-American LB Connor Mayfield is one of the most physical linebackers I have witnessed when meeting the ball carriers in the hole, as seen on his first play in his 2018 highlight's above. He also is a very cerebral player and excels in the classroom with a 3.9 GPA and 1220 ACT. Connor was named 1st team All-Region in the talented state of Georgia and has all of the athletic tools needed to excel mightily as a college football linebacker. Mayfield uses his hands beautifully in being able to detach from oncoming blockers and is very tenacious in his approach, as he wastes no time diagnosing the play to abruptly meet the ball carrier before he gets a head of steam.
TOP 2020 LB RECRUITS
Top 2020 LB recruits should be able to maneuver side to side to cover ground extremely well and when you possess a 4.11 shuttle time like Connor, you can do just that. Mayfield is seen flying to the football on the second play of his 2018 highlight's and moves extremely well for a 6'1,220LB linebacker recruit. Connor once again shows an outstanding ability in getting rid of oncoming blockers and ferociously drives the ball carrier to the ground in the backfield. Connor never stops his strong base from moving and finishes off tackles extremely well for a 2020 LB recruit. After another brutal tackle for a loss, Connor is seen once again tracking down a ball carrier laterally, as he has some of the best athletics at the LB position in his class.
2020 TOP FOOTBALL RECRUIT
2020 top football recruit Connor Mayfield can also be seen lining up as a power blocking fullback and does a great job at moving the defender on the power. When watching Connor make tackles moving forward into his tape, he is a very sure tackler and wraps up "rugby style" to ensure he takes out the ball carriers legs. Making tackles is not always about making the big hit, but instead, ensuring the ball carrier cannot run downfield by taking out the "levers".

I will be adding Connor Mayfield to our 2020 All-American linebacker list at College Football Today, as well as many others to the roster, as we prepare for our 2020 All-American Bowl in Memphis,TN. Many political agendas have seeped down into our beloved game and the five star busts that companies keep creating it seems is mostly to write about their downfall. Being correct on your personal assessment from day one takes time, diligence and watching hours of game film. If you are not prepared to do this, please refrain from creating your "hot list" and go back to the drawing board, as nobody has beaten us on our evaluations yet.
