I got the pleasure of speaking with Steve Drain last night and then got to see some rare Combine Footage, that blew me away. Jerry Behan has found a magnificient talent that can be utilized in so many ways, in today's NFL. I have explained before what the H-Back position entails, but let me go into further detail. You must be BIG, able to hold your own blocking, preferably jump really high, have great hands and be pretty much the best OVERALL FOOTBALL player on the field. This guy can also line up as purely a Tight End or be dynamic coming out of the slot. With the physicality that we are getting more of with today's DB's, Steve is the perfect chess piece to counter these Defenses. Coaches who love these type of players are Bill Belicheck, Mike Tomlin, Sean Peyton and many more amazing NFL masterminds. These guys can simply beat you over the top, while having defenders draped all over them. Jerry Behan collected the data for this combine below and his team of Elite personnel scouts. I took out my watch and also tracked each time over 5 times. For the first two shuttles I got 4.18 and 4.14, which Jerry was right on with a 4.2 recording. I also got him at a 6.81, L-Drill and a 7.07, L-drill (with slip), Jerry Behan tracked down a 6.9! Steve's Broad jump was a 10'1.5 foot jump. Steve's 10 yard time I tracked at a 1.51 second time. The 40 yard dash, which was tracked at a 4.7, I also got about a half second faster, at a 4.65. That half a second difference has a very minimal degree of concern, because of this MANs 6'4, 262LB frame! That also shows me that we have one heck of a Scout in Jerry Behan, that has joined our Elite Team of Coaches/Scouts. When I watch Mr. Drain run routes, he reminds me of a GRONKOWSKI in the way he engulphs the football, with his large hands. His running style is extremely natural and fluent, it makes you wonder what he could do as a POWER Forward, on the hardwood. His Dig routes and hand placement to get open are very good in drills and he will translate to a big time Tight End/H-Back, in the National Football League. Steve shows very good abilities in locating and transitioning his body for the back shoulder throws, as only ELITE Athlete's can do. Steve also has been recorded BENCH PRESSING 225LBs, 30 TIMES, which tell's me with his proper hand placement, blocking will be no issue. Going up in the Red Zone and making the plays he does on this film, shows me this guy can also be a PRO BOWLER! See the NFL signs guys based off of Football skills and Athleticism, their are plenty of stories below for you to read about how it's done. This guy has done nothing but work his tail off since leaving Missouri and his hard work has paid off! The ability to "High Point" balls, with the frame he possesses, makes for a ELITE Football player in the NFL! At the end of this amazing workout, you get to see Steve Drain sling the pig skin between his legs. Steve snapped 11 punt snaps, for a average of .74 seconds, from snap to catch, with his fastest being .68. On Steve's short snaps, he also snapped the ball 11 times and had a average of .3 seconds, from snap to catch, with his fastest being .2! Steve is a remarkable talent that the NFL personnel departments need to take a very close look at. Steve can benefit you in so many ways and is a ELITE trainer, who is a PHYSICAL SPECIMEN on the Gridiron! I want to thank Steve, Charles Byrn and Jerry Behan for letting me assist this stellar talent in his future goals. Here at Scout Trout, WE WILL EXAUST EVERY OPTION AND WHEN THOSE RUN OUT, WE WILL CREATE MORE OPTIONS! The team we have assembled is not only ELITE, But we ARE the BEST at what we do. Why? Because we do everything we promised and leave nothing to chance. There is no time like the present, BE GREAT EVERYDAY! YOU CAN DO IT STEVE DRAIN! Not to many out there quite like you, my friend.
