17 year old Class of 2018 Quarterback Ryan LaAsmar is your prototypical looking Quarterback, but he is not your average 6'4,210LB QB, when orchestrating greatness for his offense, on a consistent basis. While being selected All-State in three sports his Junior year, Ryan possesses insane overall athletics for a young Quarterback, that possesses this kind of size. When comparing to other Quarterbacks, I really feel like I am watching a young Rich Gannon, when I watch how precisely this young man dissects a defense, while his team is only able to dress 19 players! Ryan has extremely quick footwork in his drop-back and has a amazing 6th sense to feel pressure bearing down and is able to side step defenders religiously, as seen on the first play of his mid-season film above. He then somehow pivots and throws back across his body, to drop a dime down the sideline to his receiver. On the very next play, Ryan can be seen throwing on the run very well and once again is able to square his shoulders to his target beautifully, for another "DART" completion (The Dart System will be used in my new QB training system). He has very little "cock back", in his motion and throws the ball from almost a perfect arm angle, when evaluating his overall throwing motion, this young man has a very quick release. As seen at around 1:18, his three step passing game is decisive and the ball comes out fast and on time. Watching him throw the slant two plays later, this young man is already starting to learn how to throw the ball with his body, as he appears to rotate perfectly, being able to use his entire body to complete the pass. The throw at 1:38, will prove why this young man is going to be better then Rich Gannon, when he is throwing receivers to a spot (open), like the great Aaron Rodgers does nearly every down. His release is outstanding on this play and he does not handle the ball long, allowing his play makers to make plays! Ryan show great touch and is able to go over the top of a defense very easily and drops the ball in perfectly, on a corner route for a touchdown. About 2 minutes into Ryan's film, you will get to see his dual-threat ability, as he executes the "Read-Option" to perfection. Ryan is probably the best athlete coming out of the state of West Virginia this year and he is no stranger to success, as his Junior campaign left him with nearly 2,000 yards through the air. I expect a onslaught of recruiting, once word gets out on this young phenom, from a small private Catholic school in West Virginia, Notre Dame High School. Great job so far this season bro and go out with a bang, as it isn't how we start, but how we FINISH!
