Owen Tillis is a dynamic athlete, who dominates on the Defensive line for his Buffalo High School Football team. On the first play of Owen's highlight's, you will see his massive upper body strength, as he completely up ends the blocker to disrupt the would be Field Goal. He shows great football instincts on the 3rd play and is able to get his hands up very quickly, to bat down the would be pass. When at the tight end position, on the next play, you will witness one of the best Tight End screen highlight's this year. Tillis is able to somehow get loose from the first tackler and then proceeds to break four more tackles, as he busts his way downfield for a big gain. I really like Owen at the Defensive End position, as his closing speed to the Quarterback is extremely quick and destructive. Given his 6'3,250LB frame, he fits the mold of DE/OLB, at the next level, that can get instant pressure on a Quarterback. Owen is also very good at holding the edge in the run game, with the ability to detach from blockers and find the ball carriers to make great "sure" tackles. Owen can once again be seen at the Tight End position and it is very impressive. Tillis appears to be a very keen ball player, as he is able to sell blocks and then find himself wide open in the "soft spots" of the defensive scheme. Once Tillis gets his shoulders moving downhill, he is extremely hard to bring down and you can see why there are D1 school's across the South East, heavily interested in this young man's services. He shows great finesse and power moves off the football, while being able to locate the football quickly to make big plays in the backfield for his team. When watching Tillis on Special Teams, you start to realize that this young man is a elite athlete and can used ALL over a football field for your program. With a extremely high motor and toughness about him, I am pleased to announce that this amazing Class of 2018 prospect will be heading to Mobile,Alabama for the Scout Trout All-American Showcase-Game! Thanks for joining Scout Trout and we can't wait to work with you!
