Owen Easley has one of the strongest arms you will see on tape. Not only can he can effortlessly "flick" the ball downfield 50 plus yards and is extremely accurate when doing so, even when under constant duress. I rated Owen my #8 Pro Style QB nationally starting out, as he possesses all of tools to be a big time QB at the College Football level. He works very well in the pocket and shows a very keen football IQ, as he is able to step up in the pocket and deliver strikes. 90% of the throws you see Owen make on tape are under intense pressure and with a 19-3 TD to INT ratio, this shows he can not only be a superior dealer of the football, but also create big plays downfield, even when all seems lost. Watching Owen work in the 3-step passing game, he shows me very good overall mechanics, as he hits his back foot and is able to transition his body weight into a very fluent and quick release to throw with pin-point accuracy and velocity. The "shoulder manipulation" Owen shows at 1:30 working out of the Shot-Gun, shows me Easley will easily be able to dissect a defense from a spread style attack, that suits his skill set wonderfully. The quick pump fake to the outside receiver on the "bubble screen" is able to hold the outside corner for a split second and makes the inside S/LB in man coverage fly to the bubble-screen. The ability to re-coil and deliver a strike up the seam for a TD, remind me a lot of Drew Brees of the Saints, along with Aaron Rodgers, as they are both masters of manipulation on a opposing defense. At 1:40, Owen shows he can fit the ball into tight spaces and is seen throughout his film throwing the ball to a point where only his receiver can make play on the football. The very next play, Easley is seen making a great quick fake to his full back and throws the ball to the "back shoulder" of his receiver to avoid the safety coming from "over the top", who probably froze for the split second needed on the beautiful run fake. You will watch more of the 3-step passing game on the next few plays and how quickly the ball gets out of this young man's hand with velocity and precision. Owen has a wonderful throwing motion and wastes very little energy in his delivery. He is also able to throw magnificent "touch passes" downfield, as seen at 2:38, where he drops one right over the the corners out-stretched arm and into his receivers bread basket. Once again, at 2:51, you will see how accurate Owen is on his red-zone "touch passes", as this fade is thrown with impeccable timing and accuracy to convert yet another spectacular touchdown. As I reach the end of his phenomenal highlights, I have seen very few that can throw the ball with such precision and timing on "fade routes" that also show the overall mechanics needed to excel at a high level in the world of college football. Easley demonstrates the ability to run the football, but Owen is the type of QB who is going to fully analyze all of his options, before resorting to his legs. I am extremely pleased that Owen Easley has accepted his Scout Trout Class of 2019 Early All-American Nomination, and we now have 3 QB's per team, as he is our 6th All-American Quarterback commitment! Congrats on joining Scout Trout Elite and being named a Scout Trout All-American and our initial #8 National Ranked Pro-Style Quarterback! Keep up the fantastic work!
