Mason Reese Class 2018 6'0,205LB QB Somerset HS (KY) - All-American Report

Mason Reese is a outstanding Student-Athlete prospect at the Quarterback position and has already started being recruited by the likes of Princeton and Vanderbilt! Mason is a dynamic QB, that can either throw the ball over the top of a defense and/or drop his shoulder and plow right through them! The power he exhibits in his run game is brilliant when you watch him make the proper read and chew up valuable chunks of yards. When you watch the first play of his highlights, you see overall outstanding mechanics in stepping up in the pocket and delivering a perfect deep ball downfield. He is a hammer coming downhill and this is why he reminded be of the great College Quarterback, Tim Tebow, in his running style. Mason shows great footwork in the pocket and even under duress, is able to throw the ball to the receivers back shoulder at about :53 seconds into his amazing highlights. I really like how Mason squares his shoulders while throwing on the run, and the touch he is able to exhibit on his passes over the top of defenders. He shows the ability to go either way as well, when rolling out and delivering dimes to either side of the football field. His timing on his 3-5 step drops with his receivers at Somerset is impeccable and it shows that this young man can make college style "timing throws" with ease. Mason has overall great throwing mechanics when you watch him create the proper desired angle needed to throw the ball with accuracy and zip, at the next level. Mason appears to be a master at the Read/Option game, which is heavily used at the next level to eliminate a defender for blocking. Mason shows great ability to make the proper read of the D-END and knows exactly when to pull the pigskin and take it for massive gains.
