![]() Gerald Shepard Jr is a dynamic defensive back out of Robbinsdale-Armstrong High School, who has accepted his invitation as a Class of 2019 All-American. While traveling from Ohio, I was able to use my hot spot, while on the road to complete Gerald's mailing list. As soon as I got to Illinois, Shepard had already received a great email from Bucknell University and then the prestigious Princeton University in New Jersey. Gerald is a very solid tackling machine for Robbinsdale-Armstrong and exhibits the ability to play up in the box. Gerald will be lining up at either Strong Safety or Safety, as in my Defensive scheme both of these players are interchangeable. He come down from the safety position extremely fast, after identifying run and has great closing speed to the football. One of the most impressive plays comes at around 2:05 into high highlight's, as Gerald comes off the right side, while lined up in the box once again and is able to completely hawk the defender down from the backside, with and amazing motor/speed. Lined up in what seems to be a wide nine type scheme, Gerald is extremely quick to the ball and is almost automatic at identifying run or pass. I would like to point out that Gerald is using great tackling technique and is great at wrapping up the most important part of the runners, the legs. This is a form of the hog tied technique I teach here at Scout Trout and I believe with more constant improvement, that Gerald is destined for greatness in the prestigious world of College Football. I want to thank Gerald and his family for signing him up for the Pipeline Program and our All-American events in Mobile,Alabama. Keep Grinding Bro, let's shoot for the stars and reach the next galaxy together as one unit. #2Thessalonias 3:10 "If a man will not work, he shall not eat" |
