Edgar Quintas 5'9,220LB G/ATH Class of 2018 Willowbrook HS (IL) - All-American Report

Edgar Quintas is one of the best linemen that state of Illinois has produced for the Class of 2018, and when you flip on his tape, you will see exactly why this young bull has been selected as a Scout Trout All-American! Winning the WSC Offensive Linemen of the Year award, Edgar arrived as a dominant force and is feared by opposing defenses across the state of Illinois, as he is always the aggressor on the field! Playing with a burning passion for his team, Edgar is a straight up SAVAGE when utilized as a pulling Guard and is able to deliver some of the most vicious bone-shattering blocks that leave defensive linemen wondering where they are at. This All-Area selection keeps his feet moving as he engages with defenders and is able to pile-drive them savagely into the turf, like a boss. As he closes down on the center at around :38 seconds, Edgar shows off his quickness off the snap and is able to obliterate the center, leaving him with no other options but to fantasize about being a real football player. When it comes to quick and efficient pulling guards, Edgar takes the cake for our option style offense, as these players need to be able to quickly pull to the designated assignment to create the proper lanes in the option game. In the run game, as seen at around 1:27, Edgar pancakes his initial assignment and is able to rapidly pounce on the second level linebacker, which is extremely impressive and shows this young man's full potential as a college football player. Once again at around 1:50, Edgar shows stellar technique and is able to wall off the linebacker to perfection. He is certainly one of the best blockers overall we have witnessed at Scout Trout. A few plays later, you can see Edgar get out in front in the screen passing game and he puts the defender on ice skates, as he moves another man against his will! When evaluating offensive linemen, Scout Trout likes to throw height and weight out the window, as there are obviously guys out there who are moving men much larger then them, wherever they so choose. Demonstrating proper technique and pure dedication, resiliency and mastering your overall mental process is what is needed to excel at the next level. You will be punched square in the mouth at the next level. The question is, how hard are you gonna hit back?
