Dylan Vaniel comes to us from McKeesport High School, which is a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA, where my father played for the Pitt Panthers and Steelers. I am extremely excited to present a true "Steel Curtain" Hog, as this area has produced some of the best to ever play in the trenches. Russ Grimm, who played at the University of Pittsburgh comes to mind when watching Dylan operate in such a efficient manner, as a Offensive linemen on the gridiron. Russ is now in the NFL Hall of Fame. When Dylan is called upon to "cut block", he executes the technique extremely well, which translates to a run-oriented/option offense (GA TECH/NAVY). When the hole is designed to be opened on his side, Dylan easily pushes the defender off the ball and turns him the proper direction, via play design. Dylan is lined up at right tackle at 1:00 into his mid-season highlight's, where you will see him create a massive push off the line of scrimmage and Dylan ride the defender all the way to the sideline. On the very next play, Dylan shows how quick he can get to the second level and seal off the linebacker, to create a massive lane for McKeesport's ball carrier. At 1:18 into Dylan's film, you will see his pass rushing ability as a Defensive Tackle, as he is able to get to the Quarterback for a sack. Dylan is also a very gifted long snapper and I evaluated his snaps as some of the best I have seen at the High School level. He is firing them extremely accurately and I digitally timed them anywhere from .2 tenth's of a second, to around .3 tenths, which is the NFL's standard. Dylan has committed to attending our Scout Trout 2018 All-American Showcase/game and has earned the title All-American with his stellar play. Thanks for joining Scout Trout and keep working hard!
