![]() When it comes to football I was taught at very young age that the lower man wins. Playing Nose Tackle on 95 LB Pop Warner Football, I was able to cause 8 fumbles in the All-Star game and garner the MVP award. But why? Because I stayed lower then the other man and drove through that inferior being in my way. Literally it came down to the Center begging for mercy and crying every practice. The lower man didn't just win, he took the opponents will to play the game. Sam Mills (R.I.P) is a great example of the lower man always winning. The lower built to the ground player is told he is not tall enough to play his position, due to this "eye test" that cannot demonstrate tenacity and work ethic. One of the best Defensive Linemen in the NFL, Aaron Donald is barely pushing 6'1. So why are recruiters and coaches so bent on players being so tall? When I got to play middle linebacker against West Texas, I found a offensive line and fullback that were probably twice my size. I took it as a challenge and ended up shredding these tall Texas trees to the ground. Being quicker and gaining instant leverage on my pass rushes were unstoppable and I felt as if I were 7 feet tall that day. I was able to get my first safety in a pretty much meaningless game, along with 15 tackles and a few pass breakups. But what did I take out of this meaningless game? I found a way for the so called "small man" to dominate a game and we were able to get the Menaces first victory. Due to poor owners the team was folded here in Colorado. Here is the footage below. #22 aka "The Silver Bullet" got #HogNasty in Texas. ![]() I have had some smaller D-Linemen that have been not just holding their own against D1 commits, but they are beating them and instantly finding the ball. Ramsey Sites has the motor of a Linebacker in the way he is able to chase down ball carriers. The man can be used in so many intricate ways on the football field, because he is a total athlete. I envision Ramsey as a 4 down linemen who does not need a break. The grit and determination this young man has to fight in the trenches is fun to watch and I am excited for him to be making the trip to Mobile with his family for Senior Bowl week! I will have Ramsey lined up in multiple spots and even doing some punting in our inaugural Scout Trout All-Star Game! I want you to watch my moves on the Fullback. Try the spin move, use the swim and then power through them with the BULL RUSH! Love ya bubba and keep busting those tall trees ASS that are committing early because they are 6'6. Most of the time I have learned that the bigger they are, the harder they fall. David slayed Goliath with a tiny pebble, what arsenal do you got? It's all about what is inside fella's and only you are going to be able to demonstrate that to a College Football Coach. |
