Darrian McDuff completed his senior season with over 2,000 yards through the air and with 23 touchdown passes, while also being able to rush for nearly 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns. These accolades have garnered Darrian the Offensive MVP for district 8-4A II, and you will certainly see why I consider him the modern day, right-handed version of my favorite QB of all-time, Michael Vick. On the very first play of McDuff's thrilling highlight reel, Darrian is able to cunningly slide through defenders with mind-blowing elusiveness and speed. McDuff is one of the best I have seen in Texas as a Dual-Threat prospect since the great Willie Cherry Jr of Rider HS in Wichita Falls. As such, it is no surprise this gifted athlete received a full scholarship to the University of Ohio! Darrian shows great strength when running through tacklers in the option game and can stop at a moment's notice–then change directions in a flash. McDuff is an instant offense for a college with his legs, but do not underestimate this young man's arm talent, as he is able to deliver the ball downfield precisely and on-time. The throw up the seam at 3:13 exhibits McDuff's arm strength and velocity he can throw with, as the ball arrives promptly for a touchdown. Darrian is also a talented free safety, as he knows the game very well from the QB position. Plus, with his stellar athletics, McDuff will find himself in a prime position to force turnovers time and time again. Darrian is a very adept passer and is able to get the ball out of his hands quickly in the short/intermediate passing game, while throwing receivers to spot with impeccable timing. I love the way Darrian can throw while simultaneously on the run, and I am extremely pleased to announce that he has accepted his invitation to my inaugural Scout Trout All-American Bowl in Prichard, AL!
