ToP Class of 2020 College Recruit Anthony Zimmerman
Anthony Zimmerman exemplifies what many college coaches and I look for when closely examining recruits overall body of work. With our new rankings being updated this week, Zimmerman will remain number one, but now has Hudson Walker and Tobin Phillips nipping at his heels. So how did a now 6'0-190-pound linebacker from a 2-8 team next to Amish country in Pennsylvania become the number one recruit in America? First off, let's talk about the training that Coach Zimmerman (Anthony's Father) had our #1 overall prospect doing throughout the course of his career and why he is such a phenomenal athlete. In speaking with Mr. Zimmerman and from watching countless videos, I get to see bits and pieces of the training I incorporate in my routines and with our elite member athletes. Anthony has some of the best footwork I have seen out of a linebacker and is able to make quick and decisive decisions, as seen below at the UPenn camp. Anthony Zimmerman proved that the advanced training that he has been perfecting with his father has paid off in huge dividends. His athletics below are unmatched and confirmed by Ivy League programs like Harvard, UPenn, and he even had a comparable day at The College of The Holy Cross. Zimmerman is able to show how well his "overall process" works in the combine numbers he was able to produce at these camps and in how well he is "synaptic-ally" wired to react rapidly to a action. I love the drills that were conducted at the Penn camp and it is why I am a fan of the technique-oriented Ivy league football conference. Zimmerman is one of the hardest working young men in the country and his father has instilled in him the core values that it takes to succeed in the world of today's collegiate football. Zimmerman has spent time on the offensive side of the football as a Wildcat QB and looks very good catching the ball at the Holy Cross camp in the video below. Technique wise Zimmerman's shuttle is one of the best I have seen and even though he has been in the 4.5-4.6 range when timed in the 40 at college camps, he can even improve in his overall running motion. I am positive Anthony will continue to not only improve, but surprise us with more rapid growth in his overall athletics and play on the field. He has already improved in a myriad of ways since last season and has Ivy League-caliber academics and is the epitome of what a student-athlete is supposed to be. Let's look at the top recruits from the Class of 2019 who performed at Nike - The Opening camps in 2018 and see how Anthony matches up with his IVY League verified numbers. If you look closely, Zimmerman would rank very high in the Top 100 in the Class of 2019 and he is a year behind these phenomenal recruits!
Anthony Zimmerman Would make the CLass of 2019 and 2018 Nike Opening National Leader BOARDAnthony ZImmerman Can Flat out DO it ALL!Zimmerman and PAppoe are very much alike
Honestly, I did not see this coming at all, but when I turn on the tapes, I see a major resemblance in play, along with nearly the same combine athletics. They both excel on special teams and can block kicks, as well as fly around with superior quickness on the gridiron. Zimmerman is a year behind Pappoe, and I am expecting him to have the same results as far as offers very soon, as his hard work deserves recognition. Ivy League programs like Penn have already told Anthony when he can commit in October, and this phenomenal student-athlete will start to make critical choices about his future at the next level.
