![]() The formula for a successful hybrid OLB/DE at the next level can be found in St.Lucie Florida at Centennial High School, in this outstanding Student-Athlete by the name of George Bento! When it comes to family bloodlines the Bento's have long history of playing Collegiate sports at a high level. George's father, Arlen, played Division one basketball at Hawaii and his brother played FBS Football at Hawaii. His head coach, Jamar Chaney, will be passing along his NFL knowledge as he played 5 years in the National Football league! When you watch George's film, you really see why he has interest from so many top tier programs like Utah, Arizona State, and a slew of programs throughout the South Eastern corridor of America. This big, athletic young man, is able to shed oncoming blockers using superior strength and great hand placement. Once he gets loose, he immediately is able to locate the football and make bone-crushing tackles. When I start to evaluate Bento's pass rushing ability, I can really see the strength this young man has in his bull rush. He drives his legs very well, while using his arms to create immediate penetration into the backfield; and he often finds himself on top of the Quarterback! His speed to the Quarterback is nearly impossible to find at his size at the high school level, and his quickness of the ball will be heavily sought after in the world of College Football. Anything George seems to run into goes backwards, and at 2:11 into his film, Bento is able to show great awareness in getting his hands up to knock down the pass. When watching the rest of George Bento's amazing JR year highlight, I have come to a realization that there is absolutely nothing this young man can't do in the box. When I look for players that play in the trenches or as a Linebacker, I look for warriors who know how to use their hands as legal weapons on the football field. I also look for the agility to chase down the running backs and maybe cover a Tight End or Slot. The overall athleticism this young man shows me that he can do it all. Most importantly, he can get the job done where the game starts, and that is up front, where only the real men survive! I want to thank George and his family for believing in our process here at Scout Trout and wish him another spectacular season at Centennial High School, in St.Lucie, Florida! ![]()
