Aaron Powell not only has the heart of a lion, but he also possesses the speed of a cheetah, as seen on the opening play of his highlights. Powell's breakaway speed reminds me a lot of the great DeSean Jackson in the way he is able to accelerate and pull away from defenders in the open field. When lined up as a Wildcat QB, you can see Powell's throwing ability as he drops a beautiful touch pass to the corner of the end-zone for a touchdown. His kick-return skills are some of the best we have seen at Scout Trout nationally, as he is able to weave in and out of traffic with primetime agility and toughness. Powell is an excellent slot receiver and can be used heavily in option game as a wing back. He is able to run very precise routes and get in and out of his breaks fluently and in a flash. He has great focus in traffic when the ball is arriving and is able to maintain possession with his phenomenal hands. As a defensive back, Powell shows the same grit he exhibits on offense and is able to get to the ball quickly and easily. Powell excels in the screen game and chews up massive chunks of yardage, while always keeping his progress moving down field. We have designated Powell as an athlete for the 2018 Scout Trout All-American Bowl to show off his stellar return ability, along with playing in the slot and as a wing back. A positional breakdown of our platoon system, which will feature different variations of College style offenses catered to our personnel, will be coming soon.
