#7 NATIONALLY RANKED CENTENNIAL HUSKIES (CORONA,CA) HS FOOTBALL - SCOUT TROUT TEAM OF THE YEAR10/11/2018 The Centennial Huskies are 7-0 heading into their Rivalry with Norco HS (CA)
On December 19, 2008, the Centennial Huskies defeated the De La Salle Spartans for the California State Championship.
Six years later in 2014, the two teams would face off again. This time, the Spartans would top the Huskies following the release of When the Game Stands Tall about the Spartans’ 151-win streak from 1992-2003. The film received a whopping 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and starred the beloved Laura Dern, but it also prompted the team to be ranked the No. 1 high school football team of all time. The Centennial Huskies have held the title of League Champions for 8 straight seasons and are on track to claim the title again this year. Top 2020 QB Recruit Carter Freedland has had a outstanding season thus far
2020 QB Recruit - Carter Freedland has had a magnificent start to the season and is a major reason the Huskies are undefeated heading into their rivalry game against Norco HS (CA). With 13 touchdown passes and only 3 interceptions as a junior, Carter is a rising 2020 QB recruit that is leading the nationally ranked Huskies extremely well this season and he looks prepared to take on the Cougars of Norco High School.
Top 2021 ATH Branden Alvarez has been productive on varsity for the #7 team in the nation
Top 2021 ATH recruit Branden Alvarez has been playing very well on both sides of the football after an outstanding off season at college football camps nationally. He is back to having fun, as usual and is a key contributor as a sophomore for the national ranked Centennial Huskies of Corona,CA.
2019 ATH Recruit Reggie Retzlaff has been making big plays all season for the Huskies2019 RB Recruit's Octavio Cortes and Thomas Kinslow have been a dynamic running back tandem in 20182021 Top Recruit Jonah Carnell and Norco HS (CA) will attempt to put a halt to the Huskies epic season
Jonah Carnell has also been having a fantastic season and so has Norco HS (CA), as they are ranked 82nd in the nation according to Maxpreps and are currently 6-1 on the season. Norco is the 16th ranked team in the extremely competitive state of California and the two teams are very similar with their college style offensive attacks. This match-up will ultimately come down to who can create more turnovers and put a halt to the scoring fiasco that these two teams tend to produce. Super sophomores Jonah Carnell and Branden Alvarez, who are both Scout Trout 2021 All-American recruits, will need to step up and make plays for their units defensively and/or on special teams to help aid their teams to victory in this big time rivalry in California.
Comparing The Two Teams Statistically Thus Far in 2018
Games are not won and lost on paper, but the Centennial offense has been prolific this season under the direction of Carter Freedland and has amassed 371 points offensively, while only allowing 84 points on the season.
Riding a 5 game winning streak, Norco HS (CA) looks to improve defensively, as they have allowed up nearly double the points defensively that the Huskies have allowed. They have been very good offensively, with nearly 300 points put up this season and look to compete with the Huskies of Centennial HS, tomorrow night at home. They will have the home field advantage this year, so we will see if that plays a factor in the outcome and if the Huskies are mentally prepared for battle.
