2022 HS FB ALL AMERICAN OL

Scout Trout & ESPN Plus 2022 HS FB All-American OL/DL recruit Mathieu Carney had a phenomenal junior season at Jackson Hole HS in Wyoming and proved to be able to quickly fire off (FO) the line of scrimmage after the snap of the football and pummel his opponent viciously into the turf. After firing off the football, Carney can be witnessed gaining instant leverage while also utilizing outstanding hand placement (HP), as well as leg drive to move his man against his will per play design. Carney also is an explosive defensive tackle who is capable of creating instant penetration and maintaining the A gaps by keeping his arms extended, while inflicting damage on his opponent with his overall brute strength. Mathieu's ability to quickly detach from opposing blockers and locate the ball carrier rapidly to bring them to a screeching halt in the backfield will benefit any collegiate team on the defensive side of the football. Carney is able to maintain a solid base when executing pass blocking assignments and proves to have quick feet when shuffling his feet to mirror his opponents. Carney also proves to have the athletics to play as a quick pulling guard and obliterate his target upon engagement with his tremendous upper body strength, as well as leg drive that is able to produce vicious pancake blocks.
