Top 2020 OL recruit Hunter Drinkwater could very well be at the top of the list when in comes to interior linemen. When it comes to the intangibles needed to excel at the next level on the interior line, Hunter exhibits extraordinary grit and determination as a rising 2020 OL recruit and will set the tone for a college offensive or defensive line. 2020 FIVE STAR FB RECRUIT
2020 five star football recruit Hunter Drinkwater shows the tenacity needed to dominate at the next level of College Football Today and I have graded him out very highly using my STEP algorithm. When I evaluate OL recruits, I like to see a quick "engage to pancake ratio", which in simplistic terms means how quickly you get the defender to the turf. On the first play on Hunter's film above, he is able to swiftly upend his opponent in a pass blocking scenario. On the second play of his highlight's, Drinkwater is able to pull abruptly to the edge and demolishes his opponent. Hunter has outstanding footwork overall and is able to start the formation of the "pocket" ideally and is able to manhandle his opponent on the defensive line. Around :58 seconds, Hunter is able to show how quickly he can get to the second level and seals off the linebacker to create a beautiful running lane for his running back.
2020 DEFENSIVE LINE RECRUIT
2020 defensive line recruit Hunter Drinkwater gained major points in the versatility category of my STEP ratings and shows the ability to play at a high level on the defensive side of the football. I believe right now that Hunter is using his brute strength to get the job accomplished and once he starts to get lower upon engagement, will be able to collapse the pocket at the next level. That being said, he makes a great 3-4 nose guard right now with his ability to control the A gaps and locate ball carriers.
2020 ALL AMERICAN O-LINE
2020 All-American O-Line recruit Hunter Drinkwater has been selected as an offensive guard for our July 4th,2019 bottle rocket launch at College Football Today and I am extremely honored to add this hard working young man to our roster. Playing on the interior line takes a mass amount of willpower, grit, determination and knowing how to develop a process that creates Hall of Fame linemen like Russ Grimm. My father's former HS & college teammate at Pitt had all of these qualities and so does All-American O-Linemen Hunter Drinkwater.
HALL OF FAME NFL O-LINEMEN
Hall of Fame NFL O-Linemen Russ Grimm can be found teaching how to play at a high level on the offensive line at the next level. As you can see, the little things technique wise can bring you a long ways once you start to face superior defensive tackles at the next level. Russ was actually a Quarterback in High School, so his cerebral knowledge of the game of football helped him dominate in the trenches with the world renowned Super Bowl champion Hogs (Washington Redskins).
TOP 2020 OFFENSIVE LINE RECRUITS
Top 2020 offensive line recruits need to be able to move other men against their will daily through hard work of the field and by possessing a dedication to perfecting their craft. As a former QB/K and LB/S, I really know a lot about how important these men are up front and I am really excited for the future of Hunter Drinkwater out of Mount Dora Christian (FL).
