After being around football for most of my life, there was a time when I forgot my own process. I forgot what made me great and stopped pushing myself to evolve. Through firsthand experience—both from competing at high levels and from enduring serious concussions—I came to understand something many athletes miss entirely: the brain is the most important piece of development. You can train your body endlessly and become an athletic outlier, but if you don’t control what’s happening between your ears, you will eventually get lost—on the field or after football ends.
