Player notes - New Top 2024 LB recruit Treston Ward has been a destructive force of nature as an inside linebacker and has been able to consistently wreak havoc in the opposing teams backfield during his junior season campaign at Frostproof HS in Florida. Ward exhibits many athletic traits that project at an extremely high level as an elite middle linebacker, as he demonstrates the physicality and cheetah like closing speed that will be highly coveted by collegiate recruiters nationally this next recruiting cycle. Treston is able to quickly disengage from offensive linemen with his highly active & combative hands, while keeping his eyes in the backfield to locate ball carriers and is one of the more punishing tacklers in the 2024 recruiting class. Upon arrival at the football, he does a masterful job at keeping his legs churning after wrapping up and is able to drive ball carriers viciously to the turf. 2024 All-American LB Treston Ward is also highly effective at quickly knifing his way through the offensive front when sent on blitzes & his ability to collapse the pocket could potentially also fulfill an OLB or EDGE role if needed. He also has excellent overall hip mobility when sticking with receivers in man to man coverage and is able to fluently rotate when sinking into zone coverage to break up would be pass attempts or burst to the ball to deliver brutalizing blows to receiving targets.
